Odha do Zindagi (RAHAT- Winters)
This year, winter is going to be much worse for many, especially to those millions who are affected by the massive flood in more than 10 states this year. For them, life this winter is going to be yet another big challenge and therefore, need greater support to endure through this tough time.
Goonj makes a comprehensive kit with the essentials like woolens, blankets, mats and other material, given to people not as charity but with dignity. Under our nationwide initiative ‘Cloth for Work’, people first work on local issues like making roads, digging wells to cleanliness and then receive it.

Provide dignity kit for 15 women for 60 Dignified Days
Goonj started the NJPC (Not Just a Piece of Cloth) initiative in 2005, around a decade ago. NJPC is focused on opening up the most taboo and ignored subject of menstrual hygiene, a female health hazard, by involving the masses in generating an affordable cloth napkin. The NJPC programme is a nationwide intervention, which not only starts with providing a physical product but stresses more on changing practices, behavioural patterns, education and replication in the long term. MY Pad, Goonj`s clean cloth pad is developed out of old cloth collected from urban masses. It is made with highly indigenous processes while also educating the user women to make it on their own.
Millions of women use sand, ash, grass and rags to deal with menses every month. Goonj`s `Not Just a Piece of Cloth` initiative reaches cloth pads to millions of women who don`t even have enough cloth to deal with menses.
You can ensure 60 days of dignity for a woman. Goonj dignity kit means 10 re-usable clothy pads, 2 undergarments and a lot of awareness about do`s and don`ts of menstrual hygiene.
Cost of a dignity kit – Rs.75
A contribution of Rs. 1500 ensures 20 dignity packs to women
Goonj is using the discard from the cities for fueling widespread development work across villages of India. Dealing with more than 3,000 tons of material annually, working in parts of 22 states of India, our biggest challenge is the increasing transportation, space and manpower costs. Your contribution to Goonj’s general kitty helps sustain regular operations and provides logistical support to reach remote areas.
