A College Visit That Became an Awakening

It was meant to be an exhibition.
But what unfolded at the Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Architecture during Goonj’s Disaster Photo Exhibition was more than a walk through compelling visuals. It became a space of pause, perspective, and powerful silence.

As the Goonj team walked Administrative Officer Mr. Shaik Athaullah through the panels, a stillness settled over the room. He observed quietly. No words. Just intent focus.

“All faculty and students must visit this. They need to see this,” he told a colleague.

This wasn’t just a formal tour. It was a human moment, filled with raw, honest reflection.

Reflections That Moved a Leader

As he moved through the visual stories, Mr. Athaullah didn’t just see images. He saw realities.

“Look at this situation. And now look at the luxury we live in. We are truly privileged.”

He wasn’t pointing fingers. He was holding up a mirror for his fellow faculty, for his students, and perhaps for all of us.

“As an organisation, you are well awake. Thank you, Goonj, for awakening us too. There are many lessons to take from you. Please give my salute to Anshu ji.”

Faculty members pause with Mr. Athaullah as the visual stories prompt deeper reflection.

Beyond the Frame: When Photos Spark Change

This wasn’t just an exhibit about disasters. It was about resilience. About communities. And about us, the viewers.

For Goonj, the goal was never to shock. It was to spark thought. To move people from observation to awareness.

At Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Architecture, that shift happened. And that’s the real impact of a photo, not what it shows, but what it stirs.
