Drought in parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana impacts all of us.. 

This year’s monsoon has left parts of 4 states of India parched. Deficient rainfall has hit Kharif crops, drained groundwater tables, and strained rural livelihoods across:

  • Karnataka: Severe rainfall deficits threatening drinking water and standing crops.

  • Maharashtra: Critical agrarian distress across Marathwada (Latur, Dharashiv, Beed, Parbhani).

  • Andhra Pradesh: 388 mandals across 21 districts officially declared drought-affected.

  • Telangana: Growing yield losses and acute water stress impacting farming households.

Even if you live hundreds of miles away, food security, rural distress, and migration ensures the invisible ripple effect and impact reaches everyone of us. Under Goonj’s Rahat–Drought initiative, we are mobilizing critical basic needs material to reach the most vulnerable families.

Guidelines

As per Income Tax guidelines, organizations will have to mandatorily generate certificate 10BE for contributors. For this, contributors must provide their complete address and a Govt recognized unique identification number.

As per the FCRA 2010, to receive from foreign contributors, submission of a passport copy (front and back pages) is mandatory.

All Indian contributions made to GOONJ are eligible for tax exemption of 50% u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
