Rahat - Covid 19
Delhivery Support Goonj’s Rahat Covid Campaign
With the country bearing witness to the second wave of Covid and one of the most serious health crises of all times, the situation on-ground has been grimmer as compared to last year. The awful memories of pandemic-induced joblessness, and this year’s paucity of resources, reduced access to those resources, and the rising incidence of infections has been a major driving force to plunge into operations on-ground.
Goonj has already activated its rural as well as urban partners in varied geographies. While our teams continue to operate on the ground, in rural as well as urban areas, cases of reverse migration are being reported due to the lockdowns imposed in the states, etc. Our teams are well-equipped with the knowledge and experience from last year to reach out to the affected communities in a time-bound manner, keeping in mind all safety precautions and guidelines.
Intervention Areas
- Focus and Engage with ignored and missed out communities such as patients, artisans, daily-wagers, migrants, transgenders, sex workers, etc. and other vulnerable groups, addressing their food and other regular medical needs.
- Leverage rural volunteers and partners to identify needs of institutions and communities on-ground. Extend preliminary medical support to last mile communities through forging partnerships with front-line health workers such as ASHA workers, Primary Health Center workers, Community resource persons, grassroots partners.
- With a view to reduce human touch, mitigate logistics issues, and ensure faster delivery, Goonj is supporting direct monetary transfer in the accounts of people for essential purchases and other needs
