‘Listen to your heart. Do something’ simple but powerful words that connect us to the world around us... Half the country is going through a disaster right now... massive floods have devastated millions of people across 9 states; destroying, homes, belongings and livelihood in a big way. It is our time to do something!!!
From 2nd to 8th October, 2017 the country celebrates a unique festival of giving,
Joy of Giving Week (now called ‘Daan Utsav’). It’s a great opportunity for all of us to reach out support and care for the flood hit struggling for the basics.
Do spread the word far and wide. Encourage more people to do the same and just GIVE!!
You can make a BIG difference to the flood affected in some simple ways
Family kits - Take out usable material from your home or buy some basics like dry ration, blankets, utencils, shoes, toys etc. to contribute a pack for a flood hit family’s needs. If you want to give any 1-2 things in bulk that’s also fine. Suggestive list of what you can include in your Family Pack
School kits – Millions of children have lost all means for their education and learning. Get together a school pack with all essentials like notebooks, stationary, toys, water bottles etc to help a child resume school. If you want to give any 1-2 things in bulk, that’s also fine. Suggestive list of material for School Pack
Dignity kit for a woman - Women take the biggest brunt of disasters. Traditional care givers for their families, there’s little attention to their own needs. Make a pack of essentials like sanitary pads, saris, new undergarments, slippers, comb, towels etc. for their neglected needs.
A Dignity pack will include 2 meter cloth or more (for making a pack of 10 MY Pads), sanitizers/soaps, flex, new undergarments.
